California Coast Classic Returns in 2026 to Raise Funds for Life-Changing Arthritis Research

The flagship fundraiser — now in its 26th year — has raised more than $25 million for people living with arthritis.

The California Coast Classic Bike Tour returns September 26 to October 3, 2026, for an eight-dman leading bike group in CCCay, 525-mile journey from San Francisco to Los Angeles, bringing with it the spirit of connection, community and purpose that defines the Arthritis Foundation.

Affectionately known as "The Ride of a Lifetime," the award-winning tour follows California's iconic Highway 1, winding through redwood forests, coastal vineyards, seaside farms and charming harbor towns, with overnight stops in Santa Cruz, Monterey, Big Sur, Cambria, Oceano, Buellton and Ventura. It is the Arthritis Foundation's largest national fundraiser and, since its inaugural ride in 2001, has contributed more than $25 million to people and programs that improve life for those living with arthritis.

Riding the Coast for a Cause

Nearly 60 million adults and children in the U.S. are diagnosed with arthritis and living with the challenges it brings - joint pain and swelling, limited mobility and the emotional toll of a chronic condition. Funds raised by California Coast Classic participants power the Arthritis Foundation's:

  • Iniciativas de investigación innovadoras que buscan la próxima generación de tratamientos para los tipos de artritis inflamatoria y no inflamatoria

  • Iniciativas de promoción a nivel estatal y federal

  • Free patient education programs, juvenile arthritis camps, community support groups and resources

Participants commit to raising or self-funding a minimum of $3,500 to fuel progress toward better treatments, stronger policies and an improved quality of life for millions of people. Many riders surpass that goal, thanks to fundraising tools, personalized coaching and a community that shows up for each other.

Una experiencia inclusiva y totalmente respaldada

Designed for cyclists of all abilities, the e-bike friendly California Coast Classic is a boutique, limited-enrollment event capped at 250 riders to preserve its intimate coastal routes and close-knit atmosphere. The fully supported tour includes expert SAG support, professional mechanical repair, luggage transport, catered meals and nightly accommodation at campgrounds - with hotel lodging available at an additional cost.

Riders receive personalized training plans, fundraising resources and access to the vibrant Champions of Yes community before, during and after the event. Whether you are a seasoned endurance cyclist or are tackling your first multi-day tour, you will find a welcoming group ready to ride alongside you from start to finish.
